The Bassendean Hotel

Originally built in 1930, this restored pub has found new life in a building with rich heritage.

Working closely with the owner, architect and interior designers, the removal of the interior was curated to allow historic layers to be revealed. While respecting these, we collaborated with the designers to create our bespoke hand-painted finishes to compliment the historic renovation of this beautiful grand old lady.

White concrete block walls greeted us, so we set about ageing these walls using a combination of rusts, patinas and warm greys to soften the background and draw your eye into the beautifully revamped garden exterior of the Brisbane Hotel which was constructed in 1898. Working with the light and shadow of the courtyard we customised our paint finish from the products we used, to the colours we created. Now complete with fairy lights, soft furnishings and an outdoor bar, the stunning design by Woods Bagot reveals the perfect place to relax and for a gin and tonic!

LIGHT OF DAY by Yhonnie Scarce
Art Gallery of WA

This stunning exhibition was the largest ever ensemble of glass and mixed media by internationally acclaimed artist Yhonnie Scarce a Kokatha and Nukuna Artist.

The beautiful iridescent glass work inspired the colour, and our talented team of scenic artists created a soft ethereal paint finish on the title and lift walls of the exhibition.

This bespoke ombre paint finish is one of our favourites as the colour and application can suit many spaces, multiple layers create a depth of soft hues that draw you into the work and compliment a stunning exhibition of artworks.

TIME • RONE
Art Gallery of WA

Such a privilege to create a bespoke custom trowelled and layered wall finish on the title walls and entrance for the extraordinary and immersive exhibition TIME • RONE.

Over a two week period, our team of five scenic artists recreated a distressed and weathered wall finish on a base of gallery white by using many layers of paint and various application techniques, so that the panelling resembled old walls that had stood for a century and bared the hallmarks of time. The exhibition was seen by over 100,000 people and extended due to unprecedented demand.

No two projects are the same for us, our projects are created like a work of Art.

Art is Life... Life is Art. We never separate it.
